We produce lighter version of the style, while still moderately hopped. We’ve decided to concentrate on the aromatics of the hops by using five different varieties to give a more complex & less bitter version of the favourite beer style. Lots of tropical and citrus notes on the nose and palate
Our Nelson Saison is truly a unique style. We used our house French Saison recipe & switched out the hops for New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops. This variety is known for it’s Sauvignon Blanc wine like aromatics. The dryness & lemon qualities from the French Saison marry well with the hop characteristics, bringing out lots of gooseberry, passion fruit, grapefruit & lemon, making for an interesting take on a classic style.
Our German Wheat Beer is fermented with a traditional Hefeweizen yeast. It’s full of bright banana notes, a bit of citrus, plus a bit of clove in the background. We modified the traditional recipe a bit using malts you wouldn’t normally see in this style to produce a beer with a bit more weight and malt character.
Our Altbier is a version of Altbier called a Sticke Alt. This classic style differs from a traditional Altbier by being darker, fuller bodied & intense in flavor with higher IBU’s to balance out the caramel & molasses flavours.
We have produced a rather full-bodied dark beer with lots of roasted dark malt character. You’ll find notes of coffee, chocolate and caramel. This porter offers some bitterness but is balanced by a sweeter malt profile.
A ten week fermentation took place to make this Tripel. This beer is quite aromatic with spices, particularly clove & supported by fruit esters such as banana, orange & apricot. The balanced malt & hop character makes for a very drinkable 8.9% beer
Millot, is a Belgian Saison fermented on Leon Millot grape skins from Blomidon Estate Winery. We added 150lbs of grape skins to the fermenter prior to fermentation to allow maximum skin contact, achieving a great depth of flavor. The beer shows notes of blackberry, blueberry and dark cherry notes, and undoubtedly the deep red colour of the Leon millot is hard to miss.
Our Kolsch is a light gold, mildly hopped ale brewed in the classic Koslch style of cooler lagering for a clean, crisp taste. You’ll find a light biscuit & cereal flavor balanced by a touch of bitterness. This refreshing medium bodied beer is the perfect refreshing everyday beer that you don't have to overthink.
